Termite Treatment in Pune & PCMC

Pre-construction and post-construction anti-termite treatment for walls, door frames, flooring and wooden fittings, in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Signs you are dealing with this

  • Thin mud tubes running up skirting, walls, door frames or pillars
  • Hollow-sounding or sagging wood in frames, skirting, wardrobes or false ceilings
  • Paint or wall surface bubbling or blistering in patches, often near the floor
  • Small piles of soil-like material or fine wood dust under furniture
  • Discarded wings near windows and tube lights after a swarm, usually just before or after the monsoon

Termites in Pune are mostly subterranean — the colony lives in the soil and comes up into the building through the plinth, wall junctions and the gaps around frames. You only see the damage, which is why the problem is usually well advanced by the time anyone calls. Treatment works by putting a treated barrier between the soil and the structure, not by spraying what you can see.

Post-construction treatment

This is the usual job in an occupied flat or building. Holes are drilled at close intervals along the wall-floor junction and around affected frames, a termiticide emulsion is injected under pressure into the soil and voids behind, and the holes are then sealed and finished. Affected woodwork — door frames, skirting, wardrobe backs — is treated separately.

Pre-construction treatment

For a building under construction, the soil is treated in stages: the foundation trenches and pit bottoms, the back-fill, the area under the floor slab before casting, and the junction along the external perimeter. Done properly this is far cheaper and far more effective than dealing with it later. It has to be scheduled with your contractor because each stage happens at a specific point in the work.

What to expect realistically

Anti-termite work is disruptive compared with other pest treatments: there is drilling, there is dust, and furniture along the treated walls has to be moved. The drill holes are sealed afterwards but may remain faintly visible on some finishes. We will walk you through what will be drilled before we start. Service warranties on termite work vary by the treatment and the premises — ask us what applies to your job when we quote, and get it in writing.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move furniture away from the walls that are being treated, and empty the lower shelves of fitted units.
  • Cover anything that must not get dusty — drilling produces a fair amount.
  • Tell us about any under-floor electrical conduits, water lines or heating you know of before we drill.
  • Keep children and pets out of the work area for the whole visit, not just during application.

On safety: the correct clearance and re-entry time depends on the specific product applied at your premises. Your technician will give you those instructions on the day, and you should follow them rather than any general rule you read online.

Termite Treatment — common questions

How long does termite treatment take?

A 2 BHK flat is normally a half-day to a full day depending on how much drilling is involved. A bungalow or a whole building takes longer, and pre-construction work is spread across several visits that follow the construction stages.

Will the drill holes be visible afterwards?

The holes are sealed and finished, but on some flooring and wall finishes a faint mark can remain. We will point out where the drilling will go before we start so there are no surprises.

Is there a guarantee?

Warranty terms differ depending on the treatment, the structure and whether it is pre- or post-construction. Ask us what applies to your specific job when we quote and make sure whatever is offered is written on the paperwork rather than agreed verbally.

Do we need to vacate the premises?

Usually you need to keep away from the work area rather than leave the building entirely, but this depends on the product used and the size of the job. The technician will tell you the re-entry timing for your treatment on the day.
