Pest control FAQs

Straight answers about booking, preparation, safety and what to expect — for pest control in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Booking and quotations

How do I get a quotation from Tezz Pest Control?

Send an enquiry through any form on this site, or call or WhatsApp us. We will ask what the pest is, where you are seeing it, how long it has been going on and what the premises is like — because those decide both the method and the price.

Does submitting the form book an appointment?

No. The form sends us your enquiry and books a call back. The appointment is confirmed only after we have spoken, agreed the treatment and agreed a time.

Why can't you give a price over the website?

Because the same pest costs very different amounts to treat in a 1 BHK flat, a 4 BHK bungalow and a restaurant kitchen, and because some jobs need a follow-up and some do not. We would rather ask four questions and give you a real number.

Which areas do you cover?

Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad. That includes Wakad, Hinjawadi, Baner, Kothrud and other areas across both. If yours is not listed, send us the address and we will confirm.

Before and after treatment

How should I prepare the house before the technician arrives?

It depends on the treatment. Kitchen work needs the platform, open shelves and under-sink area cleared, with food and utensils moved or sealed. Bed bug work needs bedding stripped and ready for hot washing, and the bed storage box emptied. Termite work needs furniture moved away from the walls being drilled. We will send you the specific list for your job.

How long does a treatment take?

A routine flat is normally between 45 minutes and a couple of hours. Fogging a large commercial space, treating a whole bungalow or carrying out anti-termite drilling takes considerably longer. We give you an expected duration with the quotation.

When can we re-enter the premises?

That depends on the product and the method. Gel baiting usually allows normal use almost immediately. Spraying and fogging require the area to be vacated and then ventilated. The technician gives you a specific time on the day — follow that rather than a general figure.

Do we need to clean after the treatment?

Wipe down food-preparation surfaces before using them, but do not scrub out the treated cracks, gaps and corners. Washing those down removes the residual film and the gel, which is the part doing the work.

Is one visit enough?

Sometimes. Bed bugs and heavy cockroach infestations usually need a planned follow-up, because eggs surviving the first application hatch afterwards. We tell you upfront whether your job is expected to need a second visit and whether it is in the price.

Safety

Is pest control safe for children, pregnant women and elderly residents?

The products used are intended for pest management in occupied premises, but no treatment is risk-free and the precautions depend on which product is applied. Tell us before the visit if anyone in the household is pregnant, elderly, asthmatic or allergic, and the method can be planned around that. The technician will give you clearance and re-entry instructions on the day.

What about pets, aquariums and birds?

Mention them specifically when you book. Fish and birds are far more sensitive than cats and dogs; aquariums normally need to be covered and the air pump switched off during treatment, and birds moved out of the treated area. We will tell you what to do for the product being used.

Is there a smell, and how long does it last?

Gel baiting is close to odourless. Spraying leaves a smell for some hours and fogging for longer, which is why ventilation matters. If anyone in the premises is sensitive to smells, say so in advance and we will take it into account when choosing the method.

Are your treatments chemical-free or herbal?

We will not claim that. Most effective pest treatment involves regulated pest control products. Where a lower-odour or more targeted method will do the job — gel baiting instead of spraying, trapping instead of rodenticide — we will suggest it, but we are not going to describe a treatment as chemical-free when it is not.

Results

Can you guarantee the pests will not come back?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Treatment deals with the population present and leaves a residual effect, but reinfestation depends on things outside the treatment — neighbouring flats, shared plumbing shafts, open entry points, standing water, garbage points and the condition of the building. We will tell you what we think is driving your problem.

Why did the pests come back after a previous treatment elsewhere?

The most common reasons are that the method did not reach where the pest actually lives, that no follow-up was done where one was needed, or that the source is outside the treated area. Tell us what was done last time and we will tell you what we would do differently.

I am seeing more cockroaches after treatment, not fewer. Is that normal?

After gel baiting, yes, for a few days. The bait draws them out and affected insects move into the open before dying. If activity is still high after two to three weeks, call us.

Do you offer annual contracts?

Yes, where it makes sense — food premises, warehouses, clinics and buildings with ongoing pressure usually benefit from a scheduled programme. For a flat that has had a one-off problem cleared, we will not push an annual contract you do not need.

Still have a question?

Call or WhatsApp us and describe the problem. We will tell you what it looks like and what it would take to deal with it.
